Join us in June for a 1 hour presentation on the future of therapy, followed by our annual membership meeting. CEUs are free for chapter members; non-members will be given the opportunity to purchase 1 CEU for $10 at the end of the presentation.
Bio: Chaundra Prehara, LMFT, Desert-CAMFT Director of Education and Events, Desert CAMFT, member PsiAN (Psychotherapy Action Network) has been in private practice for 20+ years in the San Francisco Bay Area and for the past five years in the desert. For the past four years she has been the Director of Education and Events for Desert CAMFT. She is passionate about people receiving excellent therapy that allows them to live more meaningful and authentic lives and therapists having a satisfying career personally and financially.
Description: Some positive products of the pandemic have been: an increased demand for therapy services, expanded flexibility in how services can be delivered, and the reinforcement of a strong median wage for therapists. However, against the backdrop of these positive changes, two other energies have grown that will change and potentially destabilize the psychotherapy profession: the industrialization of psychotherapy (growth of private equity companies in our field) and the continued medicalization of our field (as seen in part in the way that our profession was included in the No Surprises Act). These changes will impact our profession and now is the time to inform yourself so that you have the maximum opportunities of choice and voice. Learning Objectives:
