Differentiating CPTSD and PTSD and the Integral Role of Embodiment in Trauma Treatment

Leslie Bullock, LCSW is a licensed psychotherapist in private practice in San Luis Obispo. Leslie specializes in treating individuals with Complex Trauma, PTSD, relational / attachment trauma and trauma-related stress. Her focus is the centrality of the mind / body connection and embodiment-based treatment for trauma healing. In a combination of didactic and experiential learning, this 2 CEU workshop will provide an in-depth understanding of the clinical difference between CPTSD (Complex trauma) and PTSD, as well as discuss common trauma responses associated with CPTSD. A brief history of trauma theory and trauma diagnoses will be discussed for context. • Participants will be able to identify the four categories of trauma responses.
  • Participants will be able to state three benefits of utilizing embodiment practices in Complex trauma treatment.
  • Participants will be able to name four embodiment practices for trauma healing.
